Q: What ages do you work with?

A: While my speciality is PreK-6th grade and adults, I have worked with humans of all ages, from babies in their mothers' arms, to senior citizens in nursing homes. No matter the audience, I have a great story or workshop!

A: I love to travel and experience new cultures! I am currently based in Bloomington, Minnesota (just outside Minneapolis), but have traveled as far as Newfoundland, Canada; Viña del Mar, Chile; Rome, Italy, and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates to perform or lead workshops.

Q: What is up with your hair? You look different every time I see you!

A: I am blessed with hair that grows really fast and very thick. One way I can make a simple difference for others is to donate my hair to make wigs for children with hair loss. I have cut my hair four times for charity so far, and am working on number five.

A: Fees vary depending upon many factors, but here are some rough guidelines to help you plan your budget:

Performances for 200 people or less

$350 for the first performance

$200 for the second performance on the same day in the same location

$100 each for the next three performances on the same day in the same location

Additional Travel Fees may apply (see below)

A sound system is required for all performances

Performances for over 200 people

$550 for the first performance

$350 for the second performance on the same day in the same location

$200 each for the next three performances on the same day in the same location

$100/hr for teaching and planning/evaluation meetings

Discounts are given for multiple days and for booking other gigs near your location.

Preschool Special: A 15-minute toddler performance is included with each 30-45-minute PreK show. (Performances must be on the same day, in the same location, with no more than 30 minutes between performances.)

If your location is more than 50 miles from Bloomington, MN, add mileage, lodging and per diem.

Q: What if I cannot afford these fees?

A: You have a few options.

-Write a Grant. I have written and received some very competitive grants. I will help you find, write, and edit your grant to make it as competitive as possible - even if I'm not the only artist in the grant!

-Find a Volunteer. Maybe you simply don't have the money to hire a professional storyteller this year. Is there a community member who might fill a similar role for the exposure or experience, like a high school student or brand new teller? If you save your money this year, you will be able to budget appropriately for next year.

-Apply for a Charity Performance or Workshop. I donate a small number of performances and workshops to worthy causes each year. To learn about the application process for Charity Performances or Workshops, contact me.
